Frequently Asked Questions
The timeframe is 12 hours on and the 12 hours off. This is to ensure that the body does not get too used to the stimulation and no longer responds (a process called “attenuation”). It also allows time for the skin to breath in the area where the patch is placed. Sometimes, especially with Ice Wave, people have continued to wear the set of patches as long as they are working to keep pain at bay. This is up to an individual to decide.
There are some general guidelines but no hard and fast rules. In general the best time to wear a patch is when it works best for YOU. See some guidelines below.
Silent Nights and Alavida are typically only worn at night as they help with sleep.
Aeon has a relaxation effect so some people wear it at night but it can be worn either day or night.
Ice Wave can be worn either day or night.
Glutathione is typically worn during the day as then the person can stay well hydrated. But, if a person is ill and trying to support their immune system, wearing it at night is an option.
X39, X49, SP6 and Energy Enhancer are typically worn during the day as often people report having more energy when wearing these patches. But, there's no adverse reaction if worn at night either. Some people have jobs where it is difficult to keep a patch on so they wear it at night. If using Energy Enhancer as a tool to support the body during sickness (e.g. on the face to open up the sinuses) it would make sense to wear at night.
The patches are one-time use only so typically you want to apply a new patch each time. That being said, anecdotally, if you haven't used a patch for the full 12 hours, sometimes people re-apply it the next day. The adhesive may no longer work and you may need to use a bandaid or similar for it to adhere.
Yes absolutely. You can stick the patch to the underside of clothing so the non-sticky side is against your skin. You can also stick the patch on top of clothing and it will work through the clothing. You can put the non-stickjy side against your skin and a piece of medical tape or some other material that you are not sensitive to over top to secure it.
The patches have not been tested on pregnant or nursing women so we would not recommend they use them.
The patches have not been tested on people with organ transplants so we would not recommend they use them.
Someone who is actively undergoing chemotherapy would want to wait a period of time before patching as the patches could detox the chemo drugs so they don’t achieve their desired result.
The patches increase cellular energy output, which increases the energy output of various organs. Hydration, minerals, and electrolytes are the raw materials that our cells need to make energy. If you are deficient in these areas the patches will have limited effectiveness. Some ideas for good quality hydration are spring water or mineral water, adding a pinch of celtic sea salt to your water, adding a squeeze of lemon or lime juice, or adding a store bought multi-mineral or electrolytes.
Do not transport them in your pocket as they will be activated by being against your body. You can store them in an outside pocket of a purse (away from your body) and ideally in a Faraday sleeve to protect them further. Inexpensive Faraday sleeves can be found on Amazon. If traveling through an airport your patches can go through the airport security screening without an issue. You can store them in the middle of a carryon or suitcase.
